Plastic Free Cotgrave

Reducing single-use plastics

About us

After setting up our steering group, we secured the support of the Town Council; established an invaluable relationship with our first Community Allies, Cotgrave Community Garden and welcomed further Allies including: The Patient Participation Group; Cotgrave WI; The Library; Cotgrave Community Kitchen and local schools. We have welcomed our first 7 Business Champions - Kerry's Fresh, The Simpler Life zero waste shop, Sally Bates Educational Consultant, Sunset Cocktails, Cotgrave Manvers Arms, Charlotte Thomson Creative Studio and Jayne Childs handmade lace gifts and cards.

We have held a variety of events (often online during the restrictions of the pandemic), including the creation of a ‘Green Man Rubbish Sculpture’ in April 2022, a talk by Greenpeace and joining with Allies such as the Cotgrave Community Garden and The Friends of Cotgrave Country Park at their events.

Organisations across Cotgrave have linked up with Plastic Free Cotgrave – and with each other. These include Cotgrave WI, the Patient Participation Group, Cotgrave Library, the Community Kitchen and all three local schools.

We have made short presentations to Cotgrave WI and the Patient Participation Group at the Health Centre. We are happy to come and talk to your group!

In September 2020, Cotgrave Town Council passed a Resolution to give us support in our activities.
